Information Science student.
Exploring cybersecurity, data,
and game creation.
Information Science student at the University of Maryland. I build things across cybersecurity, data analysis, and (soon) game dev. Fluent in Korean, studying for CompTIA Security+, and always working on something new.
Interested in threat analysis, network security, and protecting systems from the inside out. Here are some projects and my resume.
Configured SIEM tools for centralized log collection and real-time analysis, with dashboards to detect brute-force attempts and port scans.
Multithreaded TCP scanner supporting CIDR targets and custom port ranges, with service detection, banner grabbing, and structured JSON output.
Packet capture tool that classifies live traffic across TCP, UDP, DNS, ICMP, and IP protocols with BPF filtering for targeted inspection.
Log analysis tool that parses system and auth logs to detect brute-force attempts, failed logins, and privilege escalation indicators.
I like finding patterns in messy data and turning them into something that actually makes sense. Python, SQL, and a lot of curiosity.
Analyzed 10.4M movie ratings to compare behavioral differences between heavy and casual users — rating harshness, consensus deviation, and variance.
Exploratory analysis of TFT match data — investigating traits, unit performance, and placement patterns across ranked play.
Parsed Smogon usage stats into Pandas DataFrames to rank top competitive Pokémon and identify meta-dominant trends. Published on Medium.
Crawled 1,400 Wikipedia pages via BFS to build a NetworkX graph of 2,400 edges, visualized in Gephi to reveal clusters across AI, politics, and academia.
Binary sentiment classifier on 50K Steam reviews using TF-IDF and Naive Bayes/KNN/Decision Tree models — achieved ~86% accuracy and 0.89 AUC.
Just getting started, but deeply interested in building worlds and experiences. Exploring game design, mechanics, and storytelling through play.
An aesthetic narrative game built in Unity, inspired by Undertale. Currently in development.
A color-based timing pixel game built in Unity.
A pool game built in Unity with a friend.

Hi! My name is TJ Kim — thanks for poking around my site. Outside of my professional life, there's just me. I love playing guitar, gaming, and rating movies. I always have creative ideas that haven't quite launched yet, so if you have a project idea or just want to hang, let me know!
